Who we are

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR,) founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to historic preservation, education and patriotism.

The Michigan Dunes Chapter, NSDAR, is based in Pentwater, Michigan. Our chapter was organized December 7, 1983, by 16 charter members under Organizing Regent, June Daar. Many of our members reside in Oceana and Mason Counties, but we have members from all over the state and beyond.

Our name is derived from the dunes that stretch along only the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. We "live" amongst these dunes that during pre-revolutionary times they were used by the English and French traders. They are a geological wonder and a product of the ice age. They are home and history to us.

The Michigan Dunes Chapter, NSDAR, invites you to learn more about the DAR and what we do as a chapter. We are welcoming new members and invite prospective members and guests to join us at our monthly meetings which are held March through November on the third Saturday of the month at noon. For more information regarding meeting venues and membership please scroll to the "Get In Touch" section of this site.
